GTX 285 to 460 or just overclock my 285

Featured Replies

Im currently just playing around with the idea of upgrading or overclocking my video card, im trying to get over 700 mhz core speed on my 285, although i know i can, is it really worth it or does it not change anything for FSX? I like this card and clearly it is the 512 bit card i have and am acheiving nice results although a little more fluid and a few more frames will always help. THerefor upgrade or overclock. Other system specs,i7 ocled to 4.2ocz 1600 CL8 (planning on upgrading to 1600 cl6 if worth it) 3x2gbASus p6td deluxgtx 285 bfg oc2Velraptor for fsxNickn guide and latest nhancer

You can answer this for yourself by running an FSXMark07 benchmark (available in the AVSIM library) before and after overclocking. If you want to save time and just cut to the chase, I can tell you from my own benchmark runs that video card overclocking will make neglible difference to FSX performance. I suggest you leave it as it is.
