You guys are just twisting Dazz's words. He's just emphasising that the 470 would only be marginally better, at best, in FSX and I agree with him. Having just upgraded from a lowly 8800 to a 460 and measuring neglible performance difference myself, I seriously doubt the jump to a 470 would rock my FSX graphics world. Don't get me wrong, the 470/480 cards are the fastest out there, it's just that those aren't the droids you're looking for if you want to greatly boost FSX performance.

Dazz just needs to look and see what the specs are telling. The 470 beats the 460 in every aspect. Even in FSX, te difference may be very small, but the GTX470 is still the better card.

The extra paid to go 470 over 460 for what FSX will give you in return is far better spent on a higher spec for another system component that does make a marked difference in FSX. eg. next grade up of CPU or better cooling so you can overclock your CPU higher.

Agree with that one. Getting a 470 over a 460 is pointless in FSX. You would be better spending the money on the i7 950 instead of i7 930, or faster/lower latency ram etc.

^^ this, In Fsx. Just in FSX. Of course the 470 & 480 are more powerfull cards than the 460, but it's FSX we are talking about here.

And you were right on this one. Little performance increase, but some, and every little helps. Even more when there's brands like mushkin with dirt cheap ram sets available with high speed and low timings.I just found a Mushkin 2000MHz / CL7 2x2GB set here for 127€ (out of stock at the moment, ouch!). That's far cheaper than my 1600 CL9 dominators.After all, when you choose your ram, why not pick the faster and cheaper anyway?
