September 20, 201015 yr I have several favorite aircraft in FSX that fly great, but are "unsafe at any speed" on the ground...Is there a way to edit a .cfg file for each aircraft to increase the effectiveness of ground steering? In other words, make the ground steering more responsive? Thanks a lot...Steve in Kansas Steve 7 Miles NW of KGCK
September 20, 201015 yr As far as I know the only thing you can change is the nose wheel steering angle in the contact_points section.Point.0 is usually the nosewheel and the number 30.0 in the example below is the degrees that the nose wheel can turn. The nose wheel steer angle is the eigth parameter.point.0 = 1, 5.21, 0.00, -4.22, 3000, 0, 0.57, 30.0, 0.15, 2.5, 0.7, 0.0, 0.0, 0point.1 = 1, 0.0, -3.00, -4.26, 3500, 1, 0.54, 0.0, 0.2, 2.5, 0.6, 0.0, 0.0, 2point.2 = 1, 0.0, 3.00, -4.26, 3500, 2, 0.54, 0.0, 0.2, 2.5, 0.6, 0.0, 0.0, 3 Note, I am talking about tricycle geared aircraft. Tail draggers can also use the nosewheel parameter but they are naturally more difficult to control aircraft on the ground

Aircraft inherently handle poorly on the ground. Aside from cutting the wings off, Im not sure there's a logical solution to increasing steering response there.
