September 20, 201015 yr Just bought PFE and want to set it up networked but neither PF-2000 nor PFE is seeing my network drives. If anyone has this working could you please give me a step-by-step. I have RC, FSC ans ASE networked so I know the network is ok.)Nicholas
September 21, 201015 yr There's a good step by step in the manual that I couldn't hope to improve upon, plus a great support forum. What windows version are you running? Have you shared the PFE file on your network and given appropriate read/write permissions to the flight sim computer, and then refreshed or rebooted all computers on the network to be sure the share "took"? PFE runs very well across a network -- unfortunately, it's Windows that's usually the pest. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. September 21, 201015 yr Author The manual certainly is extensive but the only reference to networking I have found is in the FAQ stating the need for WideFS.I cant find anything that tells me whether both or neither PF2000 and PFE Deluxe has to be pointed to FS main pc, or how to achieve it: in the paths boxes it only shows the drives letters f my Slave pc where PFE is installed.Supprt forum? DOH!Thanks, I´ll try there.
September 21, 201015 yr Also, you need to be running the payware WideClient from Pete Dowson. You can find it here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlAnd a word of advice: if you're serious about this hobby, you might as well "bite the bullet" now and buy the package deal on both WideClient and the payware version of FSUIPC. Don't be cheap (like me) and think you can get away with one or the other. If you stay here for any amount of time you'll only pay more in the end. :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B.
