September 21, 201015 yr I realize a number of entries in this forum have asked this question but I have not been able to correct the problem. I have never had this happen before all all of a sudden I a plagued with it. I always end up where FSX restarts. It happens sometimes when I am loading a flight and sometimes when I am going to another plane or airport. Is there any specific file in FSX that could cause this to happen. I had it before I reinstalled FSX and and have it again after I installed it. There has to be some answer to this problem and would appreciate any input that might help me get rid of this problem.

September 21, 201015 yr Author Please check if you have duplicate scenery.cfg files on your ssystem.Yes,I have one in the Documents\user name\application data\microsoft\fsx and I have one in the Programs\Microsoft games\Microsoft Flight Simulator FSXIs there only suppose to be one entry?
September 21, 201015 yr Yes,I have one in the Documents\user name\application data\microsoft\fsx and I have one in the Programs\Microsoft games\Microsoft Flight Simulator FSXIs there only suppose to be one entry? No there should be two entries I think. The one in Programs\Microsoft games\Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX is not for user use but the other one at least for WIN7/Vista should be in your "System drive\users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX". Your listing of Documents\user name\application data\microsoft\fsx is odd. September 22, 201015 yr Yes,I have one in the Documents\user name\application data\microsoft\fsx and I have one in the Programs\Microsoft games\Microsoft Flight Simulator FSXIs there only suppose to be one entry?I use Win 7 64 Ultimate and have 3 scenery.cfg files. The third one is located in \ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX.I had this error in an earlier installation and I found out that these files were not synchronised and FSX seemed to be reading the wrong one for whatever reason. I think I copied the updated file to the other locations to fix this. Anyway I later did another Windows install as well as FSX and have not had this problem since then.

I wish I knew if I needed both scenery files I am hearing yes and then no. I am sure someone knows what should be and what should not be. Hoping for an answer.
September 27, 201015 yr Author Does anyone have any idea what is causing this to happen, it is really getting to be a problem with FSX. Thank you.
