I am getting a new graphics card on Friday and I want to know how to change them over. I know how to do the plugging in and all that, it's the software stuff I'm not sure about. My old card is ATI and the new one Nvidia. Do I just uninstall the ATI CCC software, take out the card, pop the new one in and install the new software?

Pretty much, unistall Catalyst then you might want to run a driver sweeper just to make sure. Then plug in your new card, intall the drivers and your set, good luck.
