FFX 737....Do WHAT for FS2004?

Recommended Posts

I used to like the FFX 737 for FS2002. What files are needed to run it in FS2004, and what updates need to be installed? Is there a panel other than the 737 default for this plane (GPS a consideration).I eventually want to have a great 737, with realistic panel, realistic sounds, and WING VIEWS. Hopefully...something other than the default.I'd appreciate your ideas. Stan

The FFX 737 is directly compatible with FS2004 - I don't think any updates need to be installed, unless there were some for FS8 (Which I dont think there were any) There are dozens of 737 panels in the library, so it is your choice for which one you want. >I eventually want to have a great 737, with realistic panel, realistic sounds, and WING VIEWS. Hopefully...something other than the default. What do you mean, eventually? There are great packages out there. You didn't mention freeware or payware- so check out Ariane and Dreamfleets upcoming 734. The FFX has wing views, and can be brought together with addon sounds and panel. I'm not sure if you knew, but if you click the button that says "File Library" - there are more than 35,000 files to choose from- and just typing in "737" brings up 2,700 files to choose from :)Good luck,Jason :-wave :-beerchug

There does seem to be a problem with ATC properly recognizing the 737-200. I, and some others I've noticed, are having problems with ATC calling them "Experimental", regardless of what info is in the aircraft.cfg file. I can get them recognized as Boeing aircraft, but no airline names. I've made all the alterations, etc., that I can think of to no avail. I've even copied the aircraft.cfg file directly from fs2002 into fs2004--same result.Any ideas? Thanks,Darrell

You may need to modify the aircraft.cfg file for your FFX 737. FS9/2004 seems to be picky for identifying your aircraft type. Your file might have the following:ui_manufacturer=FFXui_type=737-200 - FFXYou need to change that to:ui_manufacturer=Boeingui_type=737-200I think it will recognize your aircraft type with this change and not call you Experimental.Bob
