Installing FS in Windows 7

The advice is to switch off UAC it seems.Just wanted to ask, is this necessary if you are logged on as Administrator (the MS blurb says UAC will not interfere if you are logged on as administrator, but not sure if this is the case?)? And if you do switch UAC off, do you leave it off permanently or is it best to switch it on again after installation is over? (This PC is for FS9 & FSX only - I us another machine for internet browsing, emails etc.).Only just beginning to find my way around in Windows 7 ....Thanks,Martin

Personally I would leave UAC on. It doesn't bother me in Windows 7 and gives you a bit of extra protection. However, do not install FS9 of FSX in the default folder (Program files) but in a different folder like c:\games or C:\Flightsim. That should take care of most problems.Cheers,Allard.

No, I have a folder ready on a separate drive (SSD) into which I will install FS9. I think, given the general advice here and elsewhere, I'll turn UAC off during installation and switch it back on when all is up and running.Thanks,M.
