October 7, 201015 yr I run Win 7, and have FSX with Acceleration. So my list of missions include the Carrier Tutorial using the F/A-18. Which used to work fine, with the keyboard instructions Shift+q (tailhook), Shift+u (launch bar), Shift +I (take off assist), and Shift+spacebar (takeoff) all doing their thing as expected. But now for some reason neither Shift + I or Shift + space bar work. The other two are still fine. I have checked that these keyboard operations appear as they should in Settings. Can anyone offer an explanation/cure for this glitch please ? Would appreciate help.Jim R

If you don't have something else that is intercepting those keystrokes first then I would delete and re-assign the key combinations that are a problem. Sometimes this is all it takes to make it all work again. If it doesn't work, then perhaps there are other things that can be tried...Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
October 7, 201015 yr Have you tried a registry repair package like Advanced System Care? Sometimes your system can pick up things like spyware that screw up your whole installation. If you like the FA-18 you will love the Sludge freeware download from Avsim. If you are really interested, the VRS Superbug is the ultimate Hornet of course.Cheers,Noel. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals
October 8, 201015 yr Author Thank you both for your response and suggestions. I think the thought of something getting in the way of the keystrokes pointed me in the right direction - and changing the batteries in my wireless keyboard solved the problem. And not only did I then blast off handsomely, but I came round and made my first ever successful carrier landing the the F/A-18 !Best regards. Jim R.
