Jagged Edges problem (please help)

Featured Replies

Hi All,I have been experiencing very Jagged edges on my FS9 now for the last day or 2. I have a rather new computer and FS9 has been running perfect on it since i got it. My computer recently installed an update which was something to do with my ATI Radeon graphics card, But i checked the settings and they were still the same.I see this mainly on Aircraft and distant scenery or objects. It looks like my scenery is almost bending and stretching and it can really make you dizzy. I will post a screen shot below along with my specs.Any help appreciated.Specs-Processor-AMD Athlon II X4 620 processor 2.59 GHzMemory- 4.00 GB (3.25 usable)Windows 7 32 bit operating system.ATI Radeon HD 4600 seriesKriss Armstrong

Try downloading the proper driver from the ATI site.Windows Update is known to install drivers that cause problems. I have a nVidia card but the same thing happens here when Windows Update is given license to poison. I have mine set to let me choose what it installs, so I can stay well clear of any automatic driver updates.

Very recently, there were some people voicing that the latest ATI drivers may be causing anti-aliasing issues with their Radeon cards. I was having the same issues with the latest ATI drivers, although, not quite as pronounced as the one in your screen shot. The fix appears to be to revert to an older version of the ATI drivers. My fix was to revert to the set of drivers which came with my 4870X2. After I did that the edges seemed to get much better and I didn't notice any performance degradation with the older drivers. Hope that helps...Mark
