Can`t keep a straight line

Featured Replies

I`ve just installed FS2004 and with it a new joystick (Logitech Wingman 3D) but when I try to take off with eithe single or multi engined aircraft I get a very very strong pull to the side, mostly to the right with single engines. I have read about torque but this is ridiculousChecked the joystick calibrations but still no joy.Can anyone offer me some guidance to correct this problem, because trying to correct the oversteer cause me to progress down the runway in a zig-zag fashion.I`m alos finding the throttle doesn`t seem to be effective untill its turned up to at least 50%I would be most grateful for any ideasa - comments etc etcmany thanksGeorge

I had this problem(or one very like it ) a while ago after doing a complete reload of my PC including FS2002.After getting everything in ,I thought a nice relaxing flight would be good. The plane(any plane) constanly tried to turn hard right - almost impossible to fly or even taxi.I can't really say what was causing it but I suspect it may have been that somehow the joystick wasn't centered when the siftware was installed.I cured it by uninstalling all the joystick software, removing the Blackhawk Digital from the list in Gaming Options, then shutting down and restarting and reinstalling the software- making sure the joystick was centered before installation. After that - no problem.Hope this may helpDave

Thanks Dave - since sending my mail I read of a similar problem where the cure was to deselect auto-rudder and having tried it that has worked for me and I take off in a straight line at lastCheersGeorge

Hi rafferone,Your solution is an interesting one. I had the same problem with my CH Yoke, but it seemed to have been caused by my screwing up a re-calibration I tried. The solution was to go back and calibrate the yoke properly (pressing the buttons as directed) and that straightend everything out fine. With the correct calibration, I can utilize the auto rudder feature - which I prefer because I don't have peddles.JohnN
