October 9, 201015 yr UPS Virtual Air Cargo (UPSVAC) recently announced that they will host the first annual "Pan-American Cargo Tour - 2010." According to UPS Hub manager (UPS100) Eric Faber, this event is slated to be the first of many annual cargo/"FreightDog" events. This year's event will consist of six legs. The first leg will begin on Friday, November 5, 2010 with reserved departure times from PANC to CYWG. Subsequent legs will route from CYWG to KMIA, then from KMIA to SVMI; SVMI to SEQU, and the final leg from SEQU to SCEL. We also have alternate route destinations available – for those who are not able to commit to a 6+ hour flight leg. As you can see, this is a long-haul event, designed for online flying by any virtual Freight Dog airline.UPSVAC is coordinating ATC coverage with the appropriate VATSIM regions along the entire route. An online sign-up and departure reservation/slot assignment system is also being built, just for this event. FMS, FMC, and other Flight Sim type flight plans, as well as instrument charts (IAPs, etc.) and scenery files will available for download for at least FS2004 and FSX systems. We'll also have private Squakbox and TeamSpeak channels established to allow everyone to talk discretely to other flight participants. If all goes as planned (and the UPS Web Meister is ready) , slots will be open for reservation beginning 0000Z on 22 October 2010. UPS-VAC is pleased to open this event up to all virtual airlines of the world! (UPS-VAC pilots will all receive DOUBLE flying hours for participating.) If you're up for a challenge, then this event is for you! So, to all you "Freight Dogs" out there - it's time to unite! Get ready to load up that freighter and light-up the fire-breathing beast for an event to be remembered! Watch the UPSVAC Website for more details, as they come available. (P.S. - If you're aware of any Flight Sim Add-on company that would like to promote their products and sponsor this event - by supplying a free add-on to a randomly selected participant - please contact UPSVAC management.)
