September 12, 200322 yr I did a flight last night in New York City (I guess all the 9/11 reports yesterday made me want to do this) and I noticed that none of the building had any lights except for the Hazard lights. They appeared as black silhouettes. I don't know if this is a settings problem or an MS goof-up again.I have all other lights:Runway, Approach lighting, Rotating Beacons, Aircraft Lights, etc. Please let me know if I have to change something on my end. This is very disorientating since I VFR fly most of the time. Thanks for any information you may have.
September 14, 200322 yr NY looks like S..., and Vancouver, and lots more. What did MS forget to do now?Bob
September 14, 200322 yr did you by chance uncheck render to texture in your hardware tab of your display settings? Many people claim this "tweak" causes great performance increases with no visible change in the sim. That is...... Until Night....The night lighting on buildings are multi-textured and turning of multi-texturing (render to texture) will make you lose the night lighting. If it is unchecked, that is probably your problem.
September 14, 200322 yr Yes, most of the buildings have lights. The closer you are, the better.Alberto.
September 15, 200322 yr Well, what a bummer... I have a P4-800, 3 gig, 1024 matched RAM, all sliders max grunt, and check marks checked, except the clouds, and sitting on 04 at LGA, there are about three buildings in NYC that have lights. Is this the best that it gets? Might just as well go back to FS2K2. Can one of you scenery folks figure out how to turn the lights on? FS2K2 is fine. #####, over. Bob
September 15, 200322 yr I noticed this at JFK terminals. When I turned off AI traffic, suddenly the lights came on in the terminals. It must be that the cpu has too much work to do for all the other goodies you requested, so it just doesn't have time to display them. I noticed my cpu runs at 100% with fs9.I have a AMD XP 2400+ w/256 meg RAM, GF 3 Ti200 (64 meg). 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
