October 12, 201015 yr Hello there,Due to high demand, Planenutter-Repaints is looking for some new painters to help out!If you are interested in the job please send me a message and I will get back to you to start negotiations! Thanks
October 20, 201015 yr Being inspired by the post above , I think its usefull to give a bit of a general-warning here. When you enter commercial activities like painting payware-skins for flightsimulator aircraft , you`ll have to keep in mind , all those textures you are working with are copyright protected. This means using texturesets (complete or partially) in fact is prohibited in most cases by copyright.Selling texturesets based on existing textures (or paintkits) without permission from the maker/owner of the model and or its textures, might be and most likely is a violation of copyright. This also goes for planes/textures and paintkits wich were published as freeware. ( e.g. Project Opensky , Project Fokker and many others) Allways check this copyright issue first before starting commercial activities or being involved with.If not you might be in trouble in no time.Leen
October 22, 201015 yr Never mind about copyrights, but do you realise how discourteous it is to sell repaints of freeware planes?I might've had some reservations if it looked like you were at least putting some effort into it, but you're clearly looking to make easy money.
October 22, 201015 yr The one you seem to adress your reaction to , did not post (officially) on this topic. You are right , making money with repaints from freeware is very discourteous.I did not mention that.I was thinking of the law only.RegardsLeen
October 22, 201015 yr I was thinking of the law only.Well, how many freeware developers are going to pursue a copyright violation anyway? None, I bet.
October 22, 201015 yr I am afraid you`re absolutely right about that.I did not mention discourteousy, I should but I did`nt.Sorry about not placing it in that perspective..We agree about this practice being unacceptable anyway.CheersLeen
