October 13, 201015 yr Hi folks,I am trying to contact Sean Doran. He has dozens of repaints in the file library. A few years ago, he did a custom repaint of the Caarenado Mooney for FS2004 in the colors and tail number of my father's Mooney. My father just made the jump to FSX and we would like to contact Sean to see if he can do the same repaint for the Carenado Mooney for FSX. The email address I have for him and the one listed in all his files is getting kicked back as undeliverable. If you know how to get in touch with Sean, please let me know. Thanks,Terry [email protected]
October 13, 201015 yr Can't help with Seam's email address but can tell you that most of Carenado's aircraft in FS 9 are in fact usable in FS X .I have made several Mooney paints and have the CD version for both sims . The only real differences are that for FS X there are bump and specular textures , but these are made as BMP not DDS and some small changes in the aircraft.cfg .If you first copy ther blank textures in the Mooney map ( in FS X ) and then place Seans textures ( not the map , just the bmp's ) into that new map overwriting when asked . After this , add a new entry in the aircraft.cfg and you are ready to fly .Here's an example of an entry for the cfg :[fltsim.??] <-------------CHANGE TO NEXT CONSECUTIVE NUMBERtitle=Carenado Mooney ??????????? <------------- ADD TITLE HEREsim=Mooney_Carenadomodel=panel=sound=texture=?????????????? <----------------NAME TEXTURE HEREkb_checklists=mooney M20J_checkkb_reference=mooney M20J_refatc_id=??????? <---------------REGISTRATIONui_manufacturer="Mooney"ui_type=M20Jui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"ui_createdby="Carenado"ui_variation=???? <--------------I NORMALLY P[LACE THE REGISTRATION HERE , SO LONG AS IT IS UNIQUE ( FOR THE AIRCRAFT SELECTION MENU )description=????? <---------------OPTIONALatc_heavy=0atc_airline=atc_flight_number=atc_id_color=0000000000visual_damage=1ui_thumbnailfile=thumbnail.jpg <--------- DON'T FORGET TO MAKE A SCREENSHOT AND RESIZE TO 256 X 128 AND PLACE IN YOU NEW TEXTURE MAP If you need any further help , let me know .John

I will give this a try, just as soon as I purchase the FSX version of the Mooney!
