AI recommendations?

Featured Replies

I like flying with AI traffic, but I'm finding the default FS2004 AI traffic to be unrealistic and I've read it can adversely affect frame rates. So, I want to add some realistic AI traffic. Anyone have some recommendations for FS2004? I've seen Project AI, but am not familiar with any others. On PAI's site, they talk about how to disable all default AI traffic. But, I just want to disable the default commercial traffic while leaving the default GA traffic alone. I like having some GA AI traffic. Anyone know if there's a way to do this? Thanks in advance for your help,Dave

If I wanted to have just GA AI in FS9, I believe there is a check box to disable commercial AI in FS9. I am not 100% certain because I have not used FS9 AI menu in a few weeks.David

>the PAI installer allows you to keep GA traffic. For FS2004? I saw that the installer had lots of options for removing/keeping/reinstalling default AI, but only for FS2002. The instructions for FS2004 say just to rename the .BGL file that comes with FS2004, but they only mention one, so I assume it includes all default traffic.

Dave,Download traffic tools and then use it get your schedules file. From there you can use a macro or excel filter or something to sort through the flights and remove those that have flight numbers (leaving the GA aircraft which is based on tail numbers). Use traffictools to recompile and that should get rid of all but GA.As for better commercial AI I am waiting on Ultimate Traffic to be updated for FS9. Until then I'm avoiding big airports :)Speed.

Hi David, you're right, that option isn't available for FS2004 yet. However, you could just copy over your FS2002 traffic.bgl - that should import all the traffic from there. There will be a few issues with that, once the new Afcad comes out, but hopefully by then, all options should be available.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

You could start with default_ai_split.zip, available in the Avsim "FS2004 AI Flight Plans " section... preseparated into commercial and civil already!Simpit

Cool! That sounds pretty easy.Any recommendations for AI traffic packages other than PAI. Is that what everyone uses?
