September 22, 200322 yr My apologies if this has been posted before. You'd think since Microsoft included Antarctica airstrips for the first time in FS9, they would have QC'd them. But try flying out of Mcmurdo Station (NZWD) and beware of the bizarre terrains. The runways extend into the ocean and the mobile tower either floats in the air (when you are on the ground) or in the water (when you are in the air). I'm not complaining; I like alternate realities and parallel universes. Sorry for the bad screenshots. I'm just learning how to do this on this forum.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38409.jpg (floating tower)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38410.jpg (split screen)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38411.jpg (water textures)
September 22, 200322 yr Don't have FS9 yet, but this is what they said about FS2k2:(FS2002/readme.rtf)Scenery IssuesSliding sceneryAt high latitudes (greater than 70 degrees north or south), airports and 3D objects appear to slide over ground textures as you fly or slew. The closer to the north or south pole you are, the greater the sliding appears to be.Kind of doubt anything changed in FS9.scott s..
September 22, 200322 yr I guess thats the problem of having a world scenery that is circumnavigable ( :) ), as opposed to the normal flat scenery in any other computer game. Its a price you have to pay, in order to be able to fly all the way round.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36121.jpgStill waiting for my new PC:Athlon 3000512Mb PC3200 DDR RAM (400MHz)256MB nVIDIA GeForce FX 5600seUntil then, FS9 sits on my shelf :-(
September 22, 200322 yr Thats what I hate about the FS series..get down as far as 89 degrees 30 minutes and your flying sideways...DOH!
