FS2004 Help

Featured Replies

I was wondering if there was a way to use fs2004 with out using the 4th cd so if anyone knows how to fix this it would help me out greatly.

Yeah. Go to simviation.com and then go to fs2004 utilities...there is a no cd crack. I have installed it, and it works great. Hope that helps. it is pretty easy to install.

I was also waiting for a similar solution, as I think it is rather cumbersome to place the CD in the drive everytime we want to run FS9.I downloaded the file from Simviation but, when I was going to replace the original file by the modified one, I hesitated because the original file has a size of 1362KB, while the no cd file is only 504KB (after decompression). Is this correct? Why is there such a huge difference? Are you sure nothing will be missing?Regards,

Some have reported odd issues with the No CD crack...I can't remember a list of 'em, perhaps someone else will mention them before the thread is locked or killed. Avsim's moderators prefer No CD discussions take place elsewhere, as there's probably as many seeking a crack for purposes of piracy as there are for legit protection of their CD's and computer hardware. Such discussions tend to cause a bad rep for the sites allowing them.-John

Don't delete your original, rename it or back it up somewhere else, than copy the no-CD file into your FS9 main folder.Stephen

DomingosThere is a big difference in file sizes but this is OK. Anyway, you should backup your FS9.exe file first so that if you do have any problems then you can just restore everything to what it was.David

Thank you for your replies.I understand that speaking about the "no cd" can be embarrassing for Avsim, as it can also be used for illegal applications. It is only a pity Microsoft has resorted to this type of protection instead of using their procedure with Windows anf Office: the need to activate the software. For someone who uses the computer for purposes other than simming, it is not practical (nor even safe) to insert the disk everytime FS9 is required to run.Maybe Microsoft will hear us...Best Regards,
