possible to use the freeware INS with CS727?

Featured Replies

Hi, my question is: is it possible to use the freeware INS with CS727? Would the aircraft respond to the INS?Thanx for any answers.Best Regards Frank

I have yet to hear of any truly successful INS or any FMC,GPS or FSNAV being truly working with CaptainSim. However I have had brief unreliable success mapping the GPS/NAV button to a key and getting it to follow.

As far as I can tell, no. It's been talked about numerous times on the Captain Sim forum (just next door to this one) and it seems that CS didn't use the default autopilot functions, but rather wrote their own. As the Civa INS module controls the default autopilot, the Legendary 727 doesn't work with it. Pity, too, as it would not only be realistic but kinda fun to use. Check out the Captain Sim forum for more info.

I read somewhere and if I remember correctly, the aircraft won't turn correctly when the INS is installed.Regards,Boone

I have one aircraft hybrid that I made up using Capt's .mdl and textures, RP's panel and Charles Fox's air files. I made some changes to the config file to straighten the handling out and it has turned out to be an excellent 727.Clay
