September 28, 200322 yr I've asked this question before, but really didn't get an answer that helped. I'm having difficulty with flight planning. When I auto generate a flightplan from Toronto to London/Paris/Frankfurt/ almost anywhere in Europe, my flightplanner (high altitude route)sends me over the Northpole (via Alaska) before sending me on to Europe. Is anyone else having this problem? I installed FS9 according to the default instructions and don't have any 3rd party software working with it. Other than using 3rd party flightplanners, is there anything that I can do to fix this problem? Is anyone else having this problem? Please help!!!Tapa340
September 29, 200322 yr Just one of those gems.Even better: Try CYYZ to Reykjavik, Iceland (BIRK). Goes CYYZ to Inuvik in the Canadian Arctic near the Yukon border, then back east across the top of Greenland to Aberdeen, Scotland, EAST to an intersection in the middle of the North sea, back to Sumburgh then all the way back west to Iceland. Throw out the passengers and fill the cabin with fuel.I expect the flightplanner is just not too smart and just doesn't find leg sections short enough for its liking, so it goes finds them wherever they are... but there really is no way of knowing without getting into their code. GPS-direct seems to work, though :-)Art
September 29, 200322 yr Author Now you know why a lot us use 3rd party planners and why we consider the FS planner a bit of a joke :-)Having said that even 3rd party planners can get it wrong so you have to manually intervene - suggest that's one way round it for you.Rgds
