Video card overclocking

Featured Replies

Hi there,I read something about GPU overclocking here in the forum and found this litte tool called "Nvidia Inspector". As you can read down below, I´ve overclocked my CPU´s a litte bit. I know that this makes sense to get more power . FSX works quite well on my system (I know it isn´t the best, I would call it mid class), but I want to get even more out of it.So my question is, whether GPU overclocking makes sense or not ? Hoping to get some answers...

Best regards, Steffen

Hi Super Pilot! It's hard to predict an effect of an OC on a specific system, CPU or GPU. I use 3DMark06 to test the effect of any OC on my system.Run a benchmark with 3DMark06 and make your own judgement if the OC increased the score. Run FS to see if you notice any difference. My own experience with my 480 card is that any OC won't get me any significant difference with 3DMark06 or FSX. But that's on my system.I'd recommend you to use MSI Afterburner as your tool for OC:ing and setting GPU fan speeds.

Thanks Ulf for your fast reply, I´m just downloading 3DMark06.
