System specs:Win ME512 MB mem19" monitorGforce 2TI cardAMD 2000+ cpuGigabyte 7vtxe+ motherboardI have changed some of the FS9 defaults to higher setting and average 20 fpm. (1024 x 788) Would like advice if I could expect better results with the 9600 pro over my current card. Anyone running FS9 and the 9600 pro? Thanks for the advice.ParishKSPI

From my experience you could expect a great visual increase and a small increase in fps imo.My PC specs:Windows XP512 MB DDR Ram19" monitorATI 9600, GF5200, GF3TI200AMD 1800+EPOX 8K7AI have tried FS9 with the 3 above mentioned GPUs. The GF3 and GF5200 gave around the same performance, but when I installed the ATI The performance got quite a boost, but it, imho, depends on your settings. The fps are still low in heavily populated areas and 2D panels, but they skyrocket when I'm "bush flying". I can run the sim nearly maxed out when I'm in small prop flying cross country or operating at a smaller airport. If I'm flying "heavy iron" out of a big airport I'll have to lower the settings some, particulary if the weather is clouded and/or visibility is reduced. So imho if you mostly do low and slow VFR flying youll benefit alot, but on the other hand if you mainly do hot and high IFR, the gain would be less.Remember this is also very dependant on your sytem settings and operating system. I would really recommend you switch to windows XP, I find windows ME to be a poor OS compared to XP.Another thing which improved my fps and reduced stutter was my memory settings in the BIOS, they were (by default) at a very "conservative" setting. On my MoBo you can either use 4 predefined settings or tune them manually, I simply went for the "turbo" settings and it gave me quite alot in terms of sytem performance. I can see your mobo is different than mine so it might not be that you have that option. I found those settings by accident as I was looking for the "fast write" settings for the AGP port.Another thing I've been told but haven't tried yet, is the ATI 9600 should be very OC friendly. I have been told you can get it close to the performance of the 9800 when used with DX8 based games.finally here are some links I found on another "flightsim" forumhttp://www20.tomshardware.com/graphic/2003...on_9800-30.htmlhttp://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTI5LDk=

im running a gigabyte 9600 pro and I find it works quite well my system hangs around about 18-20fps...my system specs areP4 1.6Ghz CPUintel HV84510A motherboard512mb of 133mhz sdramwin XP proI get about 3006 3Dmarks running the tests in 3Dmark03 benchmark.
