I was just looking around the key reference in FS2004 and I found this gem:If you turn on Spot View (CTRL-Q) then hit CTRL-W, you can cycle through the planes within your range. You can then concentrate on one plane and follow it throughout its flight. You can also cycle the view of the plane itself (ahead, behind, left, right, etc.).I followed a Mooney Bravo to its final destination.I don't know whether this was available in FS2002.

It is available in FS2002, but I had forgotten how to do it.... It's fun to do with AI, that's for certain :)

Thanks for bringing up that tip. I really enjoy watching planes as well as flying them. :-)Rob

Cool find! Now I can be a virtual passenger as well as a virtual pilot LOL. I already spent near an hour spying on AI planes, saw a couple takeoffs, couple landings, real cool. Its nice to just be a passenger, and leave the flying to someone else once in a while LOL (although the AI seems a bit dangerous LOL).

Steven, this feature was indeed present in FS2002. However, there is a major improvement. Suppose you were flying a Cessna in FS2002. You then hit CTRL-W to view a 747. FS2002 kept the same view distance as for the Cessna, resulting in a distorted, fish-eye view (i.e. the view distance was much too small). When switching between different aircraft in FS2004, the program automatically chooses appropriate view distances. It can be interesting watching the aircraft going about there business. However, it can be a bit unrealistic when you see an aircraft happily flying into a mountain! Best regards, Chris

A little add to this would be to press shift-z till the line showing aircraft's level and speed and such info on top of screen, when in spot view of other aircraft it will show the info for that perticular plane :)

Also by pressing SHIFT-CRTL-W you can go 'backwards' in the AI aircraft view (ie previously viewed aircraft).Blue SkiesKevin
