October 3, 200322 yr Hello :-wave,Now that I am all settled and catching back up again with Flight 1 duties, I just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks to AVSIM for the great flight simulation conference in Reading this year. It was great to meet all of the AVSIM staff again (Tom, Maury, Marty, Matt, Miro, Aidi, and others) and share some brew, meet up with old acquaintances, and make new ones as well. The presentations were great and there was much to learn about and experience. The vendors and displays were also great and I am already making my Xmas list. I would like to extend thanks to MAAM for allowing us FS freaks :-badteeth to hang out at their fine museum and treating us with their warm hospitality. Although, I didn't win a spot in the B-25 low level lottery, the start of those engines, and the low fly-by made my day. If you ever get the chance to be in the area, make sure you stop by and look at their great displays!Look forward to the next conference in 2004! I am pushin' for Denver or D.C.Go Vols!!!!:-beerchughttp://www.flight1.com/imgmain/jsbanner1.jpg
October 3, 200322 yr Commercial Member It really was a huge amount of fun, eh Jeff? I had the best time I can remember just hanging out with all the other FS maniacs and discussing the strange and arcane things we're inclined to delve into when nobody "normal" is listening. The ride in Briefing Time was the highlight of the weekend for me, no doubt. It makes all those hours of working on the KRDG scenery worthwhile! Being able to put faces to so many of the names I know from this site was also great, and in some cases quite surprising! And let's not forget the Macarena at the banquet (as if we ever could). Did I mention to you that I'm a Tennessean as well?thanks, Bill Womack ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Visit my FS Blog or follow me on Twitter (username: bwomack). October 4, 200322 yr Bill,No, you didn't mention you were a Tennessean. The Macarena was fun too. I am looking to get a hold of your Power Point stuff from the presentation you did, so I can see what I missed. Look forward to the scenery too... Keep up the great work!
October 4, 200322 yr Author Thanks guys. We had a great time too. The wedding reception was a bit too much, but other than, a perfect gathering, IMHO.
