October 8, 200322 yr Hi folksI'd be very grateful if someone could tell me how to reposition the wing view in FS9 so that one is positioned behind the wing. Also is there anywhere where you can go to find out information like this? I know its about editing the CFG file and I'm sure its simple if you know how. Many thanks, Andy
October 9, 200322 yr There's two ways.... One involves edits to the panel.cfg.... I won't discuss that since I don't use it (as most of my aircraft are aliased to three or four common panels).First, I preface this by saying that the wing view must be designed into the aircraft model. If you switch to V/C mode, pan 360 degrees, and see no wing--then no edit will get it for you.Having said that, search for a line in the aircraft.cfg beginning with the word "eyepoint". The first number is the fore/aft position of the eyepoint vs. the aircraft's COG--which is usually over the wing. Using an example like the recent MD-90 released by Erick Cantu, I think I set my eyepoint's first number to something like -15 or so.Hope this helps.... I'm sure someone will post the panel method, which works fine if the aircraft includes a custom panel. In either case, the author must have modelled the wing as being visible from the V/C in order for these changes to allow it to be seen...-John
October 9, 200322 yr Author I've got several panels I've put those views into. Tell me what plane and what panel and I'll post something close for you.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
October 9, 200322 yr Thanks for the advice guys. Lee - The DW Embraer 170 would be a good one to start with. There are some guidlines in the readme file but the instructions are not very clear and don't seem to work. Any light you can shed would be greatly appreciated.Cheers, Andy (EGNX)
October 9, 200322 yr Author I don't have the Embraer 170, but let me download it and I'll send you a revised panel file with the views in.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
