Airports listed on top, what does it mean?

I fly in windows mode and sometimes all of a sudden I get airports listed across the top on the same line that the menu items are on. I can also get plane registrations listed at the same time and other times just plane registrations.I can get rid of them by setting traffic to zero, going back into the sim and then setting traffic back to some percentage and going back into the sim, that is when the information gets removed, but then after a few minutes it comes back.What does it mean and is there anyway to get rid of it and keep it gone?
