October 11, 200322 yr I can not do a full instal of FS9,I receive an error message which says that either one of the FS9 cab files is corrupt on the FS9 discs (which I know not to be the case) or my swap file is too small. I have succesfully completed a compact installation.I searched the forum for "swap file" and I see that several of you experts have changed your swap file, may I ask how you do it for W98SE and also how you make FS9 high priority. Many thanks in advanceDon
October 12, 200322 yr AFAIK making FS9 'high priority' in Win98SE is not possible, at least not easily. I cannot check because I upgraded to WinXP some time ago but in XP and Win2000 'high priority' is easy to acheive but can casue problems. To change your swap file in Win98SE go to control panel and double click on the 'system' icon. IIRC on the first 'page' there is a 'virtual memory' button, this is your swap file. You can either set it to let Windows manage the virtual memory or you can manually set a minimum and/or maximum size.It is usually beneficial to set both min & max to the same value in Win98SE and I would suggest starting at 256MB and see if that helps. Before doing any of that though I would delete any files in C:temp and defrag your hard drive. Make sure you do have enough free space on the drive you are trying to install FS9 to.HTH
