stutters approaching to complex airports ?

Featured Replies

Hello,When a complex airport like KMIA enters in my field of view the sim doesn't run so smooth, the FPS goes from 40-50 to 20-30 FPS and I can see some stutter. Sure I can fly, land, etc, but why ?My autogen is OFF and I tried to reduce scenery complexity to sparse but still some stutter when airport is in front of me. I tried to turn AI traffic OFF (0percent) and it helped, but I don't want to reduce everything. My scenery shadows are off, the aircraft shadow is off as well.Any suggestion to improve performance in large airports ? Can be my processor ? Here are my system specs: Athlon XP2400+, Asus A7V333, 1gb RAM Crucial DDR333, ATI 9800pro, running at 1280x1024x32Thanks,Ulisses

I dont know how your processor compares to the Pentium series, but it seems that a Pentium 4 @ 2.x or greater is required to have a chance. The rest of your system is more than adequate. I get the same slow down into Miami and I am on a P4 1.9 which is really ancient based on todays standards. But Iwould take 20-30 into Miami any day :-)Fs9 is the mother of all tweaking sims.Bill
