October 16, 200322 yr ...oastlines!I thought this before and it it became clearly visible, when I looked at a screenshot from the great KSAN Coronado Bridge in another thread here in this forum. (Have a look here http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...52321&mode=full )Espeacially the city scneries (without auotgen) bordering water are much simplier than they were in FS2002, they are FS2000 cut out cardboard style, mainly because the coastlines are done very poor. There was a big improvement in coastlining from FS2000 to FS2002 but a step back from FS2002 to FS2004. Either that there are now no coastlines at all, like in cities, or very simple, zaggy ones. This is valid not only for oceans but also for lakes and rivers.Bit still, I love this sim!Wolfgang
October 16, 200322 yr I agree somewhat, but I also thought that the "grey" boarder around every single coast line was a bit unrealistic. Like somone took a grey marker and outlined every river and shore.I don't know what the answer is. Many places just jut up against water with no "shore" to speak of. The differnce is of course, that in the real world, you don't see "half-buildings" or "streets" that just abruptly "end" at the coast. Thus is the cost of using generic textures.
