November 8, 201015 yr Hi,I'm having an issue with the weather. And I'm not sure if this has got something to do with ASE (in FSX) or some other setting in FSX or FSUIPC itself. Anyway, here's my problem:I'm using ASE in FSX together with FSUIPC 4 and the Autosave feature which is integrated in FSUIPC 4. Every 20 minutes, Autosave creates a backup file together with a .WX file.Whenever I shut down ASE after my flight, restart FSX, and I want to load an Autosave-file from the "Load flight" menu option (without starting ASE), it appears that when the flight is loaded from this file, the weather has been cleared (i.e. there are no clouds in the sky. The sky is completely clear of clouds). However when the flight was saved through the Autosave feature at that time, the sky was full of clouds (you can also see this in the "preview picture" that is displayed next to every saved flight in the "Load flight" menu).I never had this problem up until I installed build 629. I've already upgraded to build 638, but the problem with the clear sky, when it shouldn't be clear, is still there. It seems that whenever the flight is saved, the weather is not saved despite the fact that a .WX file is being created.Jon
November 8, 201015 yr Hi,Saving anything in FSX only saves the data in FSX at the time. The ASE data is not really saved at all. If you are using DWC Mode in ASE this sets all the weather stations in FSX to the same conditions as your current location. Also, ASE has nothing to do with what is saved or not saved in FSX.FYI, it is a small radius of weather that is saved, so if you restore the saved flight you will soon fly out of the weather that was saved. It is best to either save the weather file in ASE and use that or just use the current weather when using a saved flight.
November 11, 201015 yr Author So you're saying that only a small radius of weather is saved? Well, like I said in my previous post, that whenever I load a previous saved flight, all the clouds are gone. The sky is completely clear. So not even a small radius of weather is visible upon loading the flight. All the clouds are gone after the loading process has completed. I use the "standard mode" in ASE.I've been working with FSX and ASE for 6 months now, and I've never had any problems with the clouds when starting a previously saved flight up until the moment I installed build 629. I'm not saying that ASE is to blame here, but I'm also saying that this is not "normal", since I've never had this problem before.Next to every saved flight in the "Load flight" menu, a preview picture is displayed. In this picture you can clearly see the clouds. So in some way they are saved, hence the .WX-file, but when the loading process has completed everything is gone.My main concern is that I never had this problem before. It all started since build 629.Jon
November 18, 201015 yr Author It seems that I have solved this problem on my own.The issue I described in my previous posts only happens when using the "Standard mode" along with suppression. Yesterday I tried the "DWC mode", and then the clouds are back again when loading a previously saved flight. So in the end, ASE was the culprit. It just depends on the mode that you're using. It's only too bad that Radar Contact 4 is lagging when using "DWC mode".Jon
