  1. I was wondering if a developer is allowed to charge money for a driver interface to interface hardware with the PMDG NGX? If I recall correctly, I believe this is not the case (thought I read it somewhere a few years ago), but I wanted to make sure because I've spotted a website where they are charging money for interfacing the FlyEngravity CDU with the PMDG NGX. Jon
  2. After 4 years still no support for the FlyEngravity CDU... Jon
  3. This apps works fine with the PMDG 737NGX. But you have to start the VA interface after your flight is loaded (not before). So when you're sitting at the gate in a dark & cold cockpit and everything is initialised, then you start VA interface (minimise FSX window) and then connect the app on your iPad.
  4. And after the 747 the next excuse is that they are busy getting their products ready for Prepar3D...
  5. I was under the impression that we would see a graphics package to go with ASN in the near future. That's why I'm holding off to upgrading to ASN.
  6. Short answer: No Long answer: I did say no, didn't I?
  7. Hey mr. Randoza right? Now I assume that you did read my signature?, because I know how important this little thing is to PMDG. Let's just say that I'm very sensitive when it comes to name calling
  8. And again no news on SP2 for the NGX...
  9. The page you are referring to is the driversoftware from FlightSimLabs. This is software to interface the 737 or 747 FlyEngravity CDU with the PMDG 747-400 (not the 737NGX). I also have their software, but it can only be used with the PMDG 747-400. The CDU from Opencockpits is an option, but I'm not sure if you can also use it in fullscreen or windowed-mode only, because the CDU from Opencockpits acts as a second monitor, so you have to drag the software CDU from PMDG737NGX to the second monitor (CDU from Opencockpits). Right now I'm using an app called "Virtual CDU" until the SDK gets updated (whenever that is). This is an app you can use if you have an iPad (Apple iOS) or Android. It works perfectly and you connect it via Wifi. You can read more about it over here: http://www.virtualavionics.com.br/Page/product/9_Virtual-CDU.html
  10. Unfortunately the FlyEngravity CDU is not compatible with the PMDG737NGX for the moment. It requires an update of the SDK to allow datatransfer over USB. There is a thread about this subject on the FlyEngravity forum, which you can read over here: http://www.flyengravity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=891 The software you are referring to was driversoftware sold by PMDG in the past. It was for the 737 they created for FS2004. This software is no longer available.
  11. SP2 for the NGX please..., or has the NGX been discontinued???
  12. I would also like to know when we can expect SP2 for the NGX? That way we can finally (if ever) use the FlyEngravity CDU and all of the features of the new CPFlight overhead.
  13. I just realised that, but I have no idea how to delete my post ;-)
  14. And hopefully the FlyEngravity CDU (data over USB) will finally be supported after 1,5 years. Jon
  15. You're not supposed to see anything, but you should hear everything. There are certain triggers in the program that trigger a sound (.WAV-file) to be played. For example, if you start taxiing, and your groundspeed exceeds 5 kts., then the safety message made by the flightattendant is being played through Xpax. Another trigger is If you open the doors to start boarding passengers, then the start boarding message made by the flightattendant is being played. And so on.
  16. I use ESET Smart Security, however I doubt that this is an antivirus issue, since I completely disable the antivirus and firewall software to improve performance. It looks like it's some kind of a timing issue, because if you wait 10 secs. and click on the "OK button", than the textures do get installed. If I recall correctly I already pointed this issue out a long time ago so they should be aware of it.
  17. I have the option "Post-Plan Graphics Install Prompt" enabled, and whenever the initial weather processes have been completed, I get the install prompt. But when I click on the "Ok" button too soon, the wx influenced textures do not get installed automatically, and I have to go to the "Graphics" section and install the textures there. However, if I wait a few seconds before clicking on the "Ok" button (let's say 5 to 10 secs.) than the textures do get installed automatically. So, this seems to be a timing problem (and it also depends on how many waypoints you have in your flightplan). I would like to point out that this is a longstanding issue, that was already present since SP1. I thought this was going to be fixed in SP2. Hopefully this can be fixed in the next update?
  18. I have it myself, and it works with the PMDG 737NGX. No problems.
  19. Yes, waypoints are also updated (not just around the airport). Just as long as you keep your flightplanning software and the NGX updated with the latest AIRAC, you're good to go. The only thing that does not get updated is the FSX database itself. So new VOR's and NDB's are also not added to the FSX database, but their waypoints are added in the AIRAC so you have it available in your flightplanning software and the NGX CDU.
  20. I hope we finally get an update to the SDK for the 737NGX. I've been waiting for ages to be able to use my FlyEngravity CDU with the 737NGX (it needs an update to send data over an USB connection).
  21. Actually there are numbers for this which can be found in FAR Part 25.473: http://www.flightsimaviation.com/data/FARS/part_25-473.html To sum it up: 10 fps up to MLW (600 fpm). 6 fps from MLW to MTOW (360 fpm). If I recall correctly, these numbers can also be found on the Boeing website somewhere.
  22. RC stands for Radar Contact. I know that the PMDG B744 takes a few seconds to get stabilised when resuming from a saved flight, but it can be done, and has always worked for me. As a side note: the queen stabilises a lot better in FSX than she used to do in FS2004 when resuming flights. Ok, I'm back to figuring out what could be the problem (I have one more thing I can think off what could be causing it).
