Hi all

 

It's been quite a long time since the NGX was released to market and since then, we've heard the occasional tidbit that there may or may not be a BBJ and/or Wedgetail product offered by PMDG to go with the NGX. I realise the people at PMDG are reluctant to talk about projects in development, but for the purpose of maintaining interest among customers (both current and future), could we please have some form of concrete response from PMDG as to whether or not there will be an NGX BBJ/Wedgetail offered by PMDG?

 

I hope my fellow PMDGer's wont mind me saying that we fans and customers of PMDG would be very appreciative of an answer to this query.

I have added a poll, simply so that PMDG can see the level of interest in such a product as this over the coming days, weeks, months.

Being an Aussie and FS(x) flier for past 20 odd yrs this would be a very nice addition to the hangar.

Mind you I'm also waiting on Orbx to release scenery for Perth (but would suspect pigs might fly before that happens and PMDG would release a Wedgie by then!)

I'd like to see scenery for Sydney (YSSY) from Orbx, but that's for another forum. As for the Wedgetail, I'd just like to make clear that I do not expect (nor want) the rear internal workstations to be modelled - just the external model, kind of like PMDG's 747-8i external model.

I'm not sure if the customer base for a wedgetail is big enough to warrant PMDG making an expansion for the NGX. Plus, wouldn't information about the wedgetail be classified as it's still in service?

Me too! Our great airport is really mis-represented in FSX, even with the OZx addon for it.

Last I heard, Fly Tampa is making one.

Ryan, I am not expecting PMDG to go to the RAAF and ask for how the aircraft performs aerodynamically so that the exact effects on the aircraft of the radar sail can be simulated in FSX. I'm just asking for the external model, of which pictures are in abundant supply. I'd wager that the dimensions of the radar sail would even be public knowledge somewhere, not classified.

Yeah, I suppose it would be OK just to do the external model. Nothing very classified about that. PMDG can probably do some virtual wind tunelling with the radar on and cook up some magic with the flight dynamics so it feels like its got some extra weight on it, but it wouldn't be 100% accurate. There are plenty of reference photos around, I even took a few myself at the Pearce airshow ^_^

For the BBJ, I'd like to see a cleaned up cockpit, as real BBJ's cockpits are very clean and well-kept.

I'd probably get the BBJ.

Still waiting on the -900ER.

Not the wedgetail (not interested in any military stuff), but definitely a BBJ/BBJ1. No interest in the bigger BBJs.
