  1. Between 0% and 100%
  2. Either it will be August 2015, or August 2016.
  3. The 787's flight deck is all-new. The 777X flight deck is supposed to follow the 787's, per most recent information. The 787 is a wholly different airplane than the 737, or any Boeing airliner for that matter. Almost all systems are completely electric, no hydraulic systems to speak of. Its a whole new animal. That said the 787 is the most likely candidate, it is new, there are two models flying with the -10 to come soon. While I would love it to be a 727 or 757, I doubt it.
  4. I have been injected with a new hope in life!
  5. For those of you who thought I'd stir the pot about PMDG's *supposedly* upcoming DC-6, you were wrong! Rather, through my internet searching I have found a Douglas DC-6 for sale, and it looks quite familiar. Here is the PMDG plane, with both henning van Rensberg in the real thing, and PMDG's paint scheme: Here is the listing at Controller.com (Can't link pictures): http://www.controller.com/listingsdetail/aircraft-for-sale/DOUGLAS-DC-6/1958-DOUGLAS-DC-6/1357265.htm Listed as a 1958 Douglas DC-6B, this plane previously served in Zambia, Yugoslavia, and other places. Currently listed at $1,245,000, some negotiating could bring it down to an affordable $1,000,000 for anyone here who can't wait for a PMDG release; maybe we can crowd fund this purchase? I think this very well is the same plane that Henning and PMDG structured their development after. Thought you guys would like to see this.
  6. That all for radio navigation.
  7. You'll still have elevator trim to cheat with...
  8. Go to Boeing's YouTube channel (or Airbus) and see their videos on the various flight test campaign items. Recreate these certification tests, it's fun. I also like to test the flight envelope protection systems; you can also try turning off the flight computers and do some approaches and procedures to see how dependent you get on them.
  9. Be glad there's no price control for these sorts of things. If they weren't allowed to charge $90 for the product, it wouldn't be made (likely).
  10. When do we expect release?
  11. I can't say about the straight -200 or -300, but I think the -200ER is the most likely, if any other 777 variants come later. As for the 777X, the 777X isn't set to enter service until 2020, and it will be at least 5-7 years before performance data satisfies the requirements for PMDG to develop a product.

SO, I just built a new system, cleans Windows 7, everything. I have a clean install of FSX on a proprietary hard drive, and I have the 737NGX installed and it works fine. I installed the 777-200LRF base pack, opened FSX and activated it. I then installed SP1, and then the -300ER, opened FSX and activated it too. However, nothing in the aircraft works. Systems, displays, knobs, missing gear, no animations, etc. I uninstalled the -300ER, then I uninstalled the 777-200LRF base pack. I proceeded to reinstall the base pack, I opened FSX and loaded the aircraft, to find the same problem. This time I was not prompted to activate. I uninstalled and re-installed again, to no avail. Any insights?

Logically I wouldn't buy it because most of commercial flying is in Delta colors, and they don't operate the -300ER. However they have a big order coming this fall, so maybe if I buy it I'll make good karma. You know, $35 is a good tipping point on the $3.5 billion side... When people say -300, they mean -300ER, there's no need to get all pretentious about it. Plus, with only 60 straight -300's built to the now 721 ER's, calling the 300ER just a 300 doesn't warrant confusion
  14. Don't forget you actually get to use the thing in beta test while the rest of us have to wait and wait.
  15. 600: Pan Am, Austrian, Janet, Boeing 700: Delta, Alaska, primer green 800: Delta current, Delta Color in Motion, Delta classic, Delta Skyteam Alaska, Alaska Salmon, ANA, Pan Am 900: Boeing, Delta
  16. The 787 does have extra features such as dropping ailerons, automatic spoiler, and a few more, but the HGS system is pretty clse to the NGX I believe. Nevertheless, the 787 is almost a definite thing, seeing as the 747-8 simulation's GEnx-2b's are SO close to the GEnx-1B on the 787.
  17. For the record I wasn't complaining; the 747 is my favorite too, and it pains me flying the -400X after having the NGX and 777X and seeing how old and un-state-of-the-art it is. I'm looking forward to flying it all over no doubt, but I was making an argument in favor of the 757/767...
  18. Its funny that a major factor in not making a 757/767 is that they claim these planes are being retired from service and will be gone soon when if anything the 747-400 is the plane that's being let go of rapidly. The 757/767 will be around a lot longer than the 747-400 I reckon . Most airlines are dumping the -400, with JAL and ANA having dumped theirs, Air France's will be gone in 2016, United and Delta likely by 2019, Qantas this year (save the ER till '18), Cathay Pacific this year, Asiana this year, and Air New Zealand this year. If the schedule for the 747v2 is the same as the NGX and 777 (Aug 2011, Aug 2013) and we see it in August 2015, very few airlines will still have them in service, and the -8 will be limited to 4 carriers: Lufthansa, Korean, Arik, and Transaero.
  19. I agree. I do hope they make a very nice simulation, at least as good as the PMDG MD-11.
  20. Here is Boeing's latest video about the MAX, showing the development of their pre-production simulator. You can see some GUI renditions of the new flight deck, looks very 787 like. Its now gone to the small gear switch. http://www.boeing.com/boeing/Features/2014/06/bca_737max_ecab_06_25_14.page
  21. Its a fuselage + hump stretch, all-new wings, GEnx-2b engines, updated avionics, some fly-by-wire things, increased range.
