  1. I might have a look at the Rex 3 Service Pack 3 and see how it compares with ASN.
  2. I had REX + OD but it was too clunky for me. Decided to bite the bullet and bought ASN, but using REX's textures. ASN is definitely the way to go.
  3. OK, GSX loaded, and I've also reverted back to CCC 12.8. All options ticked in Steve's DX10 fixer, and flying the stock FSX C172 without any spikes or tears! Cranking along at 30fps locked on 3 screens. Now to tweak my fsx just that > < little bit more... :-)
  4. AMD CCC version 14.4. I did a little more testing and it seems the default FSX C172 is also causing the spikes when I set the weather to major thunderstorms, strangely enough. I also tried the FSX Cessna Grand Caravan and PMDG 737 NGX in DX10 and it's fine. Then I reloaded EZDOK 1.16 and REX Essentials + Overdrive, still no issues. Going to load up GSX next and do more tweaking the fsx.cfg over the next few days and see what happens.
  5. I had to rebuild my PC recently due to a OS crash, and as I was rebuilding my FSX, I noticed that my framerates increased significantly with no spikes. Then I noticed when I loaded up EZDOK v1.17, it all started to happen again. Tried all sorts of tweaks, no joy. Dropped it to DX9, framerates took a massive hit. Reloaded Steve's DX10 fix, framerates jumped right back up. Removed EZDOK and it's all sweet, no spikes or corruption! Will keep experimenting. System: i3570K, overclocked to 4.6GHz, stable. 16Gig RAM ATI Radeon XFX HD7850, 2GB FSX on Samsung 840 Pro 256Gb SSD 3 x Dell 2320 23" 1920 x 1080 screens (5760 x 1080 in Eyefinity)
  6. Can I have the option of mag wheels with mine? And a stretched version.
  7. I'll give this a go later this week if I can. But if it falls in a heap again, especially with DX10, I'm going nVidia.
  8. I'm not sure how it managed but was getting around 25-30 FPS in cockpit view with PMDG 737 NGX, FTX Australia and REX + Overdrive, with EZDOK and GSX on the ground. I did overclock my i3570K to 4.6GHz though. Pretty stable, no crashes. Does anyone have the Gigabyte N760OC-4GD GTX PCI-E card? I assume it will drive 3 screens via Surround?
  9. I only have FSX on my system with 3 x 1920x1080 Dell 23" monitors and I'm ready to switch from ATI to nVidia, so bring on the bargains!!!
  10. Yeah, I've given up on the DX10 fixer for my HD7850 and sticking with DX9. I'm running 3 monitors at 5760 x 1200 (or is it 1080, I forget). Now to keep tweaking for the optimal settings for DX9. Can anyone recommend a good nVidia card? I'd need one powerful enough to power 3 monitors.
  11. Solution is buying an nVidia card
  12. Hmmm, that's a good point. Anyway, my addon of the year has to be FTX Global. It brings a whole new dimension to VFR flying.
  13. I'm disappointed with the DX10 fixer, caused a few issues for me, like tearing, spikes and FPS drop. Using an ATI 7850 card though, with RadeonPro with settings as recommended by others here. Maybe better if I switch to a nVidia one.
