November 9, 201015 yr Hello Ladies and Gentlemen !I am contemplating buying either "Air Hauler" or "Cargo Pilot", any comment pro or con from users ?ThanksAlain from Montreal
November 9, 201015 yr Air Hauler is much more involved than Cargo Pilot. It is a better product all round, Cargo Pilot is best regarded as the predecessor to Air Hauler.I will warn you that Air Hauler is likely to steal your life as you become obsessed with progressing, because it is a very engaging and entertaining add-on. It does a lot to give your flights some purpose, as well as providing a reason for you to fly to places that you probably would not normally consider visiting, so it expands your horizons too (i.e. I have bases of operations in Japan and Russia for my Air Hauler company, and those are places I'd never even loaded up into FS for until I got Air Hauler). It's great for repainters too, lots of people have created virtual air hauler company websites, custom company paint jobs and all that kind of thing. It works with every aeroplane and add on I've ever used it in combination with, and in FS9 and FSX too, so it's a program you are unlikely to have any issues with at all. Moreover, it can actually be quite sociable too, since there is an online 'radar' map which comes with it that is effectively also a chat room where you can see who is flying what and where in the world and chat to them if you like. There's a lot more fun stuff in it like that too, such as dealing in stocks and shares if you want to and competing in a company league table to see who is doing the best.As far as gameplay is concerned (and it does effectively turn FS into a very cool game), what is especially nice about it, is that there is a very well thought out starting system for it, meaning you can go really hard core and make a big challenge for yourself, or start off a bit easier if you prefer a more casual approach. Within that framework, it is feasible to fly any aircraft you care to mention too, from helicopters to GA aircraft, or seaplanes, or big heavy metal of either military or civilian origin, so you can make it exactly what you like and fly exactly where you prefer as well, since it will generate jobs anywhere you have a base. so if you wanted to whizz around in that Cessna Mustang on your signature, you certainly could. The AI pilots, and the way they progress (or don't if you hire a duffer) is very entertaining, and you'll have a lot of fun trying to get their hours up so they can fly the bigger aircraft you get in your fleet (what you and your AI pilots can fly is determined by the hours/trips flown and affects what MTOW you or your AI employees are allowed to pilot).Support is great for it, to the extent that the developer will readily respond to posts in the Just Flight forums and even sort out potential issues personally for you, such as if you want to tweak the config files for an aircraft to make a passenger airliner into a cargo plane or whatever (I've had him do that twice for me via email, and it was fast too). In short, I've never come across better support by the developer for any product than there is for Air Hauler.I can pretty much guarantee you will love it. I don't know anyone who hasn't been impressed with it who has tried it. If there was only one FS add-on I could ever have, I definitely would choose Air Hauler, it really is that good.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
