October 17, 200322 yr Hi, Just wondering if any of you folks have downloaded, from AVSIM, and installed "realtime.zip" in FS2004, and if you have had any luck with it?Half way through the installation process I got this message: "PLEASE NOTE: the scenery is not yet compatible with FS2004." At this point, I aborted the installation--not quite certain if it would be alright. From the write-up, it sounds like a great add-on for FS. Would like to try it, but I thought I would wait until I heard back from one of you folks.Thanks.RevEv
October 17, 200322 yr I use it with FS2004 and it seems to work fine. From the file decription:"FS98 - FS2K4 FS Real Time v1.63 is made tokeep Flight Simulator's UTC (Zulu/GMT) timeand date in sync with the Real World. It canmaintain either the current Real Time, or anoffset (+/-) so you can fly at any variationfrom Real Time. This package also includesDennis Thompson's World Time Zones v2.1 SP4which eliminate many of the time zone errorsthat shipped with recent versions of FlightSimulator. FS Real Time by Joshua Robertson."First line states it is compatible with FS2004.The only thing that I find 'disturbing' about it is how it makes the second hand on analog clocks in an aircraft jump around as it performs its timing corrections, but that is a minor issue.
October 17, 200322 yr My understanding is that Dennis's Time Zone BLGs don't work in FS9 because MS changed the way the BLGs are written.Although I don't have Real Time I guess the rest of the program works fine and keeps FS in sync with system time.
October 18, 200322 yr Sorry, I didn't realize that a new version was out there...here's what you do:when it comes to the screen that says it is not compatible with FS2004, uncheck the box for the improved timezones scenery. If you already have FSUIPC installed, you can uncheck that box also. The FS RealTime application will still be installed and it is FS9 compatible.
