November 20, 201015 yr I use FSX to review my real-world flight lessons for the most part, and I've got everything humming along very nicely, except for one minor problem. When I'm doing a circuit in a real C-172, I throttle down to 1,500 RPM at the end of the downwind leg. After adding flaps and trimming the plane for 65 knots, I really don't have to adjust my power settings any further to get the right rate of descent. Usually the most I have to increase it to is around 1,700 RPM.In FSX, however, I need to add a good deal more power--usually up around 2,100 or 2,200 RPM--to get the right rate of descent. If I try keeping it at 1,500, I start to sink like a stone. Can anyone suggest any settings I might be able to change--perhaps to a .cfg file in my aircraft folder--to adjust the amount of power needed for a proper rate of descent in FSX? I'm flying the Carenado 172 with all realism settings set to max. Thanks in advance for any help. "Even Ozzy's wagging his tail again. Liam who?"
