November 20, 201015 yr Hello,Flying with the J41 I always set the speedbugs using the IAS knob. But I have no idea why I should. If I don't the plane is flying with no problems at all. You have to set the speed manually.Setting speedbugs for the landing? I do, but I have to set the speed manually when I do a ils landing. Can an will anyone explain to me what the speedbugs do in real life, or is it just a reminder on the screen for the pilot? Thanks for helping.Eric Eric van Dorp
November 20, 201015 yr Eric,It's only a reminder. It is good to have them in sight when something goes wrong (e.g. engine failure) during take-off or landing.Peter Grunt
