CH Yoke trouble

Featured Replies

As this problem happens while using MSFS 2002 & COF, I figured I'd post it here. Sorry if thats not correct.Anyways, I have the CH Yoke LE USB & also the CH Pro Pedals USB. I have a button on my yoke assigned as a brake button, (not parking). As soon as I press on the differential brakes on the pedals the yoke button no longer works. It seems to cancel out the setting on the yoke for some reason. I have tried using FSUIPC to assign the brakes to the yoke with still no luck. Also, my CH Yoke keeps cutting out in FS. It works just fine and then nothing. I have to unplug my yoke and then plug it back in to get it back on line.Any help with these two problems would be most welcome.

There are cleverer people than me out there but I would suggest your brake problem may arise from conflict. It's not good to have two controls assigned to the same command, which you seem to have there. Why would you need brakes on the yoke anyway, Dan, when you have pedals? There are many, many threads on setting up yoke and pedals and I won't repeat it all here, but basically, from my experience:1. If all your yoke and pedal settings are standards FS stuff, then DON'T use either FSUIPC or CH Control Manager to set them up. Simply make all assignments within FS.2. Do not assign any command to more than one button/pedal (i.e. brakes)3. If you wish to create any non-FS commands - Roger Wilco transmit on your yoke, for example - then yes, you do need to use CH Control Manager to create a "map". Be aware, though, that any time that map is loaded, it references a completely different set of assignments within FS, so you have to reprogram your yoke and pedals accordingly. You will end up with two sets of commands in your FS config files. Any time you load FS without loading the CH map first, it will revert to the old set. This can be confusing, but is important to know.Incidentally, I had trouble getting my yoke, pedals and parallel joystick programmed in FS9 whereas it was never a problem in FS2002 (which I still use half of the time). All I did to solve this issue was copy the relevant section from my FS2002.CFG file to my FS9.CFG file. Works a treat.Hope this helps just a little. Hi Dan,I Have CH Pro Pedals and Yoke USB. Here are a few things to try. recently I sent my pedals back because the right toe brake broke. Excellent customer service.1) Try out the NEW CH Control manager. It cleaned things up nicely in MSFS9. I have winxp Pro.2) Are you running either the pedals or the yoke through a USB Hub? If so, I would change that by installing the Yoke and Pedals on your first two USB Ports on the PC. For example, I have 4 ports on mine, two in front, two in back. I run the yoke and pedals on the two USB ports on the front, and I run my 4-port hub, and my printer on the two in the back.3) try changing around your USB devices in the different ports. You may be exceeding the allowed power and that is why it may be shutting down your yoke mid-game.4) As advised above, you should have your brakes assigned to only one command in MSFS9, IE Yoke and Pedals. remember, you should still have the default period (.) key set for brakes.5) If you have COF and FSUIPC, I don't think the Freeware version from FS2002 will allow you to tweak much for COF. FSUIPC is now Payware for COF, but some freeware developers can use some functionality by license agreement. It will not allow Joystick adjustments though.Anyway, I would check USB assignments first, then go get the CH Control Manager update version form Ch's website. Here is the link for you.http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_controlmanager.htmlHope this helps,Regards,Joehttp://aboutpolitics.net/images/bannerav.gif.About Politics.net - FORUMShttp://pub207.ezboard.com/bpoliticsgivemel...tyorgivemedeath.Contribute to the Richard Harvey Scholarship Fund.http://www.avsim.com/pages/scholarship.shtml
