Do Catalyst 3.8 Drivers Damage Monitors

Featured Replies

As so many of us use Catalyst drivers I wondered if anyone knows if there is anything in this:http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=12222

I don't think anyone knows yet, for sure, what's really going on. But there have been a significant number of reported cases where monitor damage is being blamed on the 3.8's. I usually ignore this kind of thing, but I've seen a couple of those reports from very credible people whom I trust and that was enough for me to go back to the 3.7's. There is no use taking the chance on frying a $500 piece of equipment just to be running the "latest" driver version. It may all prove to be a non-issue but I'm not going to run the 3.8's with these monitors until my comfort level goes up a bit.Doug
