ForceFullScreenVSync Issues

I read in a post by Peter Hayes that he thought that vSync was a factor in causing stutters, and it may have been causing CTD's on my system. So I turned it off and have a smoother sim (even at KPDX by ORBX) and no more CTD's.  My theory is that vSync causes FSX thread disruption and other timing failures resulting in a CTD.Can anyone verify or have another take on this?I also have a 580GTX and it seems to want to run wide open.  dry.gif TIAjja

Are you forcing vertical sync using nVIDIA inspector/control panel or with fsx.cfg setting?I force vsync using nVIDIA Inspector (not using fsx.cfg setting) and have no problem with CTDs and stutters. Have you tried that?

Yes - but the point is that the FSX engine should run without interruptions.Still testing but looking good so far.jja

Forcing vSync at the driver level seems to work best right now.jja
