November 29, 201015 yr Hello from EnglandI'm planning on buying the NGX, and as I read through the forums in the PMDG section I gather that it is going to have around the same performance as PMDG's MD11, I get around 20 FPS during flight with default scenery, however, this will go down to around 3 FPS when on VATSIM with scenery. I personally don't have a clue about overclocking, however I think it is the way forward. I intend to buy this:http://www.dabs.com/products/akasa-ak-ccx-4002hp-venom-cpu-cooler--socket-lga775-lga1156-lga1366-am2-am3--70LW.htmlSo I can overclock my CPU.I have also heard that an SSD will speed up my frames a little, is this true? Thanks in advance, Luke Brown Luke Brown | EGSH
November 29, 201015 yr I have also heard that an SSD will speed up my frames a little, is this true?Well it won't really increase your FPS - it should decrease loading times and possibly decrease stutters while loading texture/scenery tiles. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 29, 201015 yr I've never heard of Akasa but if you want to overclock to the max you'll need a powerful air cooler or water coolingTry the Noctua NH-D14 or the Corsair H70I've heard good things about both.
