i7's use tri channel memory so i presume your using 3 x 2gb? I would suggest installing one memory module at a time, booting up each time and seeing if windows detects the memory. This way you can see if any modules are faulty.I would also suggest checking your voltages in the bios, however I doubt that this will cause a detection failure. Also, does the rampage extreme have a memok function? May be worth checking...

Hi Sam ,i allready tried to boot one dimm at a time and all the dimms are working ok BUT if i put one dimm in the B or C slot only ,so no dimm in slot a, the computer won't boot , maybe it's suppose to work this way , if i put all single dimms in slot A they all are working ,It's strange cause cpu z says that the memory installed is 6144mbytesI also tried to increase the vdramm to 1.65v but that didn't change a thingGérard

Gerard: make sure your try every possible combination of slot and dimm. If you have two sets mix them up as well.

Which part of windows shows you only 2gigs? How much memory does task manager say you have (ctrl+shift+esc)?
