December 8, 201015 yr As I'm making my first repaint for use in FSX< I'm also trying to make it into a DDS texture, but something eludes me in the whole DDS texture stuff: why is that, when I open a DDS texture in DXTBmp, that the texture appears vertically inverted? So, for example, I opened up a British Airways texture file of the Flight1 BN 2 Islander, but it was all vertically inverted when compared to the paintkit I use to repaint the aircraft. I have sen it also on the PMDG 747. Why is this? Should I invert the repaint I'm doing before converting it into a DDS texture, or is this automatically done? And what if you import an alpha channel? So, the alpha channels of the BN2 Islander don't seem to be incorporated into the actual PSD files, so I have to add them in in DXTBmp, but since I exported them from the BA repaint I mentioned, they are also inverted. Must I invert them manually, so that they fit the PSD file's orientation? This is all horrible confusing for me... December 8, 201015 yr Simply said the DDS world is "upside-down"Using DXTBmp the "flipping" should be done by manual command. ( this goes for the alpha`s as well)Using Imagetool the DDS files will be flipped automatically ( alpha`s as well)In other words , a DDS has to be offered to FSX upside down.RegardsLeen
