December 9, 201015 yr Hi All,Just yesterday I noticed that when I finish push back in the MD11, the tug driver says "pushback is complete, set parking brake please" and then right away the pilot's voice says "brakes are set, and pressure's normal" even before I set the parking brake. I can confirm that the brakes aren't in fact set because I was able to push back (and brakes shouldn't be set in an MD11 that is being loaded or unloaded anyhow) and I can taxi normally without any dragging brakes issue. I do use CH Pro pedals, however I don't se any indication that the brakes are applied in any way. Any ideas on this one? Thanks! Allan Burek
December 9, 201015 yr Just touching the brakes is sufficient to trigger the pilots announcement and pedals are notorious for spiking. The other area where this can cause a problem is with the autobrakes being disabled during landing because the system sees a spike from the pedals and the thinks the pilot has manually applied the brakes. I suggest you increase the null zone for the pedals but other that, just ignore it. As you say, it is not causing a problem. Paul Smith.
