December 10, 201015 yr Good Evening, Just got my new PC a few days ago, and re-installed FS9 shortly thereafter. Below are the PC specs:Alienware Aurora_R2Intel i5 CPU 760@ 2.8GHzInstalled Ram - 6GBWindows 7 64bit Home PremiumATI Radeon HD 5670Presently, I've installed most of the add-ons that were installed on the previous system, including but not limited to Ultimate Terrain (USA), Ground Environment 2006, a few payware scenery, and AS6.5 (with the latest update). However, when I'm running AS6.5, the framerates drop abysmally low (around 5FPS), from around 30 FPS (without AS6.5 running).I've tried numerous settings, and FYI, I'll post both my FS9 cfg settings and Active Sky cfg settings below (pardon the volume of info):I've searched the forums for anyone who might have encountered a similar situation, but to no avail. Btw, I had no issues when I installed AS6.5, so i presume all the necessary files were installed correctly.I'll be very grateful for any assistance that can be offered. ThanksJermaine Clarke
December 10, 201015 yr Hi,It's your ATI card that doesn't handle cloud textures very well. In CCC what level in AA Mode are you using? Also, for AA and for AF what values are you using?
December 10, 201015 yr Author Hi,It's your ATI card that doesn't handle cloud textures very well. In CCC what level in AA Mode are you using? Also, for AA and for AF what values are you using?Hi Jim, In AA mode, I'm using Super Sample AA. For AA, I'm using 16X, and for AF, I'm using 16X also. Btw, since I'm now using Net 1.1 (I think a more up to date version is installed with my gig), would that have anything to do with this issue (since version 1.1 is specified for ASG)?ThanksJermaine Clarke
December 10, 201015 yr Hi,No, .Net has nothing to do with this.Turn down that AA Mode one notch to Adaptive Multi-Sample and start FS and see if there is a difference for you.
