Software yoke/rudder problem

Featured Replies

I don't know if this problem is a software or hardware associated but here goes anyways and I apologize if it's in the wrong forum upfront. I just purchased a dell 9100 computer with windows 7 on it and I can't seem to get the yoke or rudders to display their movements in FSX. I've enabled the controls in the settings menu andI have gone to the calibration tables and have done everything per the book and can't get them to display visual movement within the cessna 172 default plane. I have done the 'Test' in the calibration windows and they all display movement in the various axis' , however, when I try to fly with the default plane, I get no response or visual movement within the simulation. Anybody know what might be causing this problem? jack

Hi JackWhat brand of Yoke, rudders etc?If it is not a hardware fault and . . .If you can calibrate the axes and see movement in Windows then they must be active in FSX.In FSX there should be NO duplicate assignments of axes (FSX will assign axes to the mouse etc)On the rudder xis check the 'reverse' option. In FSX ALL sensitivities full right (100%) and all NULL zones full left (0%) (You can change thse values later. But make sure you get all axes! Are you sing the 2D cockpit or the VC in the default Cessna. In the 2D cocpit you will not see any movement of any axis - this is only seen in the VC.Under Device Manager\USB Hub\power management Make sure you do not allow the computer to turn off power to the USB connections to save power. I always set my Power Options (via Control Panel) for the computer to High Performance so that nothing powers down if the computer thinks something is idle.Regards :Hypnotized: PeterH

Peter,You stated: "In FSX there should be NO duplicate assignments of axes (FSX will assign axes to the mouse etc."......Should I delete the FSX assignments of the mouse for the yoke & rudder movements and leave the PFC yoke & PFC rudder assignments as they are since I have a total of 4 assignments in this area. One for the yoke with the mouse, one for the yoke for the PFC yoke and one for the rudder etc and one for the PFC rudder etc......????Jack

Sorry for the double posting, as this was moved to the hardware forum. My apologies...As stated in the above posting, my problem has been solved. I had the controls setup on 'advanced' instead of 'simple'....They work fine now.Regards, jack
