Yes and no, with SSD and a fast CPU and FSB you will see a slight increase in FPS because the CPU doesn't have to wait as long for textures to load and hence can get back to the job or processing the display frame..Rob
This is completely incorrect. FSX uses the other CPU's for all texture loading... ie these are all async function calls that return control back to the calling/rendering thread immediately regardless of where it's physically stored.... on top of that, no work is actually done by the CPU until the file is in cache to begin with so the harddrive itself should not be limiting factor in anyway. I don't know where this archaic vision of how things work comes from but you aren't the only one to to think this :).
