October 28, 200322 yr ...commercial airliners. I think many of us know the situation: you have got a nice ac model with different engine variations and want to download some repaints for it. And then the problem starts: which repaint fits for which engine variation. I'm not such an expert, that I know that XY airlines uses PW and not GE engines on its 747s. Sometimes airlines use 2 different engine types in a certain ac type fleet (e. g. Qantas on their 767s) but the repaint/readme won't tell you for which variation it isOn the other hand it can happen that I know that XY airlines for which I have just downloaded a great repaint only uses RR engines on their 747s. But which 747 modification of this great freeware ac developer is the RR model? Mostly trial & error is the only solution to find out. Therefore it would be nice, if all repainters clearly stated allready in the file name for which engine modification a repaint is and which model modification is needed for the repaint and if all modellers include a code in the filename which automatically tells one the engine modification a model represents. And these codes should be general understandable (e. g. PW, GE, RR)and not just a combination of numbers and letters, which only can be understood by insiders.Again, this is not a complaint, but only a suggestion.Wolfgangedit: off course many ac modellers and repainters allready now clearly state for which engine modification their work is designed for.
