December 27, 201015 yr Also texture loading when flying seems a little slow, and the autogen pops in and out, taking away some of the immersion of flying. With a 4ghz overclock on an i7 processor and my Gtx 480, shouldn't my computer be able to load ground textures/autogen a bit better?Hi William,This is from Phil Taylors sp1 blog in 2007:"FSX does not "alpha-fade" Autogen in the distance. This makes for a discernable "pop" of Autogen objects. SP1 batches objects in a 2 km boundary. This, when coupled with the lack of "alpha-fade," does make the Autogen "pop" a little more obvious than in RTM. We think it's a fair tradeoff, though, for the performance gain. For DX10 we will look at bringing the "alpha-fade" back."I just wanted to quote this to make a point that no-one should be dissapointed by there computers performance running fsx as there is i think a coded restriction on how fast textures and autogen load, for performance reasons. Can anyone confirm that a hard code will limit the effects of tweaks(and pc speed)?
